Into the Woods with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with some fun Storybook Collection vibes. I loved the most recent Big Kit that was just released, and I wanted to make woods filled little scene to share with you. I love the Little Red inspired images and couldn’t wait to color them up. I stamped Red, the Huntsman, and the little pile of chopped wood. 

I found the cutest pine tree filled patterned paper in my paper stash, and cut a grassy hill to layer over it. I gave each piece and light inking and heat embossed a white sentiment onto my hillside using an older small sentiment set called Lettered. I used some foam tape under the grassy layer and tucked a tall skinny pine tree from the Minkie Jingle stamp set alongside my cute characters. 

I added a small bunny onto the logs that i stamped from the Miss Anya Jeans set and adhered in at the bottom next to my embossed sentiment. I added a very small “Hi” word bubble into the upper sky area and added 3 little clay confetti hearts onto my scene before mounting everything onto some “lumberjack” looking buffalo check paper. 

I was worried that it would end up looking like a Christmas card, but I’m so happy that it doesn’t. It turned out very summertime woods, which was what i was going for. Shopping my stash and mixing images from different sets is one of my favorite techniques for building scenes, i hope this card inspires you to shop your stash the next time you are creating a masterpiece!
